When the weekend rolls around at LLYC, the schedule changes from the normal weekly activities, but the power and excitement and momentum builds!
At Singing Hills, Friday and Sunday nights are huge highlights because they are campout nights. On Friday afternoon, the girls hiked to the backside of our property where they experienced a night in the outdoors complete with chili and ribs. On Sunday night, the boys take their turn at camping, chili cookoffs, and fort building. On Saturday night, between the two campouts, the camp reunites for Cross Talk which is the Roundup where the life and death and resurrection of Jesus is presented. This is always a sacred night where cabin time becomes more focused on talking about what a relationship with Jesus is all about.
At Echo Valley, Friday night was Cross Talk at Roundup and the campers were witnesses to a drama led by the counselors. It was a re-make of the Lifehouse Everything drama seen in churches around the country as well as on YouTube. The campers clearly responded to the drama and hopefully had significant conversations in cabin times about the saving power of a relationship with Jesus.
The weekend funmeter remains high at Echo! On Saturday night, there is a cajun crawfish and shrimp boil out on the lawn, and of course on Sunday, it is Blue Hole Day!
Your campers are doing very well, and this session really is loving each other, making many new friends, digging in and going deep at cabin time, and making some of the most beautiful worship that we’ve ever seen and heard.
Camp really is transformational for your kids, and we pray this time at camp will give them the tools, the desire, the passion, and the confidence to live the Christian life when they return home next week.
