Stunts & Campouts

It’s been a fun and crazy week at camp! Echo Valley hiked to Blue Hole on Sunday, and after a good show of belly flops and air guitars, we had delicious K-Mayne burgers. For those of you who do not know what a K-Mayne burger is, it is an intricately prepared hamburger topped with a variety of spices and herbs and rated the best hamburger in Real County. The name K-Mayne arises from the fact that Kevin Mayne himself is the one seasoning and grilling the burger, which makes it all that more incredible.  After a much-needed rest time, Central Staff and counselors faced off in the annual Light Side (counselors)/Dark Side (central staff) softball tournament.  I’m slightly ashamed to say that it was more than just a beating on the Light Side’s part . . . we quit keeping score after Light Side went up 20-5.

Later that evening, the programmers (Steve & Phillips) showed off their incredible underwater skills by staying fully submerged in a truck bed full of water for the entire length of Roundup. The campers and staff were unaware of Lou & Skip’s (Steve & Phillips) presence until they blasted their entrance song and two soaking figures emerged from the truck . . . it was amazing!

Across the river at Singing Hills, the girls had a fun night in camp complete with dressing up, a talent show, and a late-night viewing of Enchanted. The boys took to the wild and hiked to Backside for guys campout. I’ve been told that everything that happens on guys campout is secretive and cannot be divulged to the public; so that is all I can discuss on that topic.
