Yesterday was opening day of jam session!! All of staff is so pumped for this crazy session. In this next week we will cram everything a two-week session does into half of the time. It’s going to be a wild ride!
It is our aim and our goal to build the same degree of relationships with our one-week campers as we do with our two-week campers. A staff member made the wise statement this morning that we should not look at this session with the discouraging thought, “I only have a week with these kids,” but instead look at it as, “I have a WHOLE week!” There is so much growth that can happen in one week, and I know this first hand.
Everyone in this canyon, from central staff to counselors, is going into Jam Session with renewed strength that can only come from God. We have spent numerous hours preparing both individually and as a team to receive this next set of campers. Our prayer has been that we would move into Jam session feeling fresh and restored so that these kids can have the same experience as that of a two-week camper.
God will move in this camp. He always does, and it is never to us, but always to His name that the glory shall be given. Without Christ we are nothing.
