New Activities in Echo Valley

This entry was posted on Jul 15, 2011, by Bonner Ercums and is filed under Camp Fun, The Beat @ LLYC

Echo Valley came up with a couple new activity choices this session. One of these is “Girly Sports” and the other one is “Holiday Sports.” On Tuesday I happened to witness both activities going on so I thought I’d give all of you a little peek.

On this particular day in Girly Sports, they were having a Taylor Swift day. The counselors brought out all of the camp guitars, and then proceeded to teach the girls some basic guitar chords so that (hopefully) they would be able to play a Taylor Swift song. It wasn’t quite what I would call music to my ears, but it looked like fun!

Learning how to play an Em chord.

Loving girly sports!

The teaching method.

Future Taylor Swifts!

In Holiday Sports they were celebrating Cinco de Mayo! I guess they told the campers before hand, because they all came prepared in Mexican dresses. The counselors passed out sombreros and mustaches to each of the campers. After running around shouting “Arriba! Arriba! Ay ay ay ay ay!” they finally settled down with some chips and queso.

Holiday Sports' biggest fans!

Cinco de Mayo fiesta!

That’s all I have for now! Have a blessed day!
