Hello LLYC Families!
I’m not sure about you…but we are warm and dry in the Hill Country and are praying for rain!! But that’s isn’t all we are praying for . . . We have been praying for our sweet campers and the start of their school year. . . we hope it has gotten off to a great start!
In the LLYC office, we’ve been wrapping up summer 2011 and are looking forward to another out-of-control crazy fun summer and have already started making arrangements for 2012! We have posted our 2012 dates online under ‘Dates and Registration’. The Registration time line will be coming soon and be on the lookout for your registration packets at the end of October.
As of Summer 2012, we are going to be making some adjustments to Jam, Third and Fourth sessions. We will be moving Jam session to follow Fourth session. The dates for Jam will be July 29- August 4, 2012. There are a few reasons why we have decided to make these adjustments.
Historically, those who register for Jam session do so because most are 1st time campers, and therefore it is typically a young session. With that said, by moving 4th session earlier it will allow our older Echo Valley campers to attend the final two-week session without conflict of the August 1st start of high school sports and UIL activities.
Additionally, we are bringing the grade requirement for Singing Hills Jam session to match our two-week sessions. A camper must have completed the 2nd grade before he or she can attend. History has shown us that most campers that have completed only the 1st grade are too young to be away from mom and dad for a week. They struggle the very most with homesickness. We love our campers and we want their first experience at camp to be the best it can possibly be.
