The Running Man

This entry was posted on Sep 26, 2011, by Bonner Ercums and is filed under Camp Fun, The Beat @ LLYC

One of the main attractions at Blue Hole is the cliff that the kids get to jump off of (or belly flop off of if you’re particularly brave). There is one small area that the kids can jump from in groups of up to three people and then the rest is a spacious strip of flat rock that kids stand on to wait in line. However, every single Singing Hills session this summer has used this extra space on the cliff for an alternate purpose.

The campers and a few select staff members stand in a line and bust out their favorite dance moves. Music is constantly played in the background of camp, and while it’s completely normal for people to be dancing on the cliff, there is one song that continually gets the same result.

Every time this song is played all of Singing Hills starts doing the “Running Man.” For those of you who may not know, the Running Man is a dance move that, basically, looks like you’re running in place. Here are some pics from Session 3:

The whole camp doing the Running Man.

A little closer up!

There’s really nothing particularly funny about this move or even the song. What’s so funny is that every Blue Hole trip they play the song, and all the campers stop what they’re doing to bust out the Running Man. Watching a long string of kids all doing the same crazy dance is just not something you see in on a regular basis. Only at LLYC!
