Getting to Know Camp

Laity Lodge Youth Camp is a coed, interdenominational Christian youth camp which focuses on spontaneity, fun, and relationships to show kids the best two weeks of their lives while sharing with them the Gospel message and love of Jesus Christ.

We are dedicated to providing campers with healthy fun and a Christ-centered camping experience in an exciting, emotionally safe, learning environment.

The key ingredient of the LLYC camping experience is the building of relationships.

In establishing strong relationships, we reach into the heart of the Gospel message. In each counselor, campers find someone who listens and genuinely cares about their needs. We believe that, through modeling of such behavior, the counselor is the leader in helping the campers progress in their understanding of Jesus Christ. As the campers witness the Gospel of Christ in the words, actions, and lives of the counselors, they often come to a place where they can truly accept God’s love. Through loving and challenging campers where they are, we strive to be real with them and give them a special place where they can be real with us, each other, and God.

Situated along the banks of the Frio River on the 1,900-acre Foundations for Laity Renewal property in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, LLYC’s two camps offer a fun and exciting camping experience for youths in first through tenth grades. Lofty cliffs, rugged terrain, and a crystal-clear, spring-fed river characterize the Frio Canyon, which offers the perfect setting for adventurous activities and exceptional programming.

Can you even begin to imagine?

Our program or schedule is driven by creativity and spontaneity so that no two days are alike. With a mixture of individual activities, theme days, group games, rodeos, Olympics, cabin activities, and late-night surprise events, no one is ever quite sure what lies ahead.

“The BEST two weeks of your life!”

Are you looking for the time of your life? We’re talking tons of fun! We have a saying at LLYC—”the best two weeks of your life!” And we do everything in our power to live up to that slogan. Our program is driven by creativity and spontaneity so that no two days are alike.

Have we mentioned Roundups?

It's about relationships

Each evening, we gather for a charged time of rock-your-world singing, laugh-’til-you-cry comedy, knock-your-socks-off drama, and mind-blowing, Christ-centered messages. Then it’s back to the cabins for Cabin Time, a chance to share experiences, problems, and beliefs in a relaxed, nonthreatening, small-group setting. Then the day is over—hardly! When most other camps are calling it a day, we are often on the move with a spontaneous river dance, a live concert, a full-camouflage midnight counselor hunt, or our nighttime cabin activities. We stop at nothing to see that the LLYC camping experience is the best—”the best two weeks of your life!” Can you feel it?
