Dancing With Dayton
Posted by David Grimes on Jun 06, 2012 in Camp Fun, Summer 2012, The Beat @ LLYCDayton Whites, the Boy’s Side Director at Singing Hills is a pretty sizable guy. He is not known for childish behavior, but tonight he fits right in with all the excited campers dancing to song after song. It’s the first Roundup of Session 1 and Dayton bounces up and down with a goofy grin on his face, one hand on his belted radio and the other on his cowboy hat.
All around the theater-style Singing Hills Pavilion campers and counselors alike are throwing limbs around, grooving coolly, or just sitting back to watch and enjoy. A parent asked me earlier today if there would be any dancing. Of course there will be! Dancing is one of the things that really brings this camp together. It doesn’t matter if you know all the dance moves in the world or if you’re just making it all up on the spot, no one is judged and everyone has fun. “Eight more songs!” the chant goes up as soon as one song ends. “Eight more songs!”
