We are fully conscious of our responsibility for the care of your child, and we take this responsibility very seriously. We do not encourage phone calls to your camper or allow visits, because we have found that this disrupts the camp and camper experience. We do encourage you to contact your camper through letters, care packages, and email (through the Parent Portal). Also, we do not have cell coverage at camp.
Our full-time staff strives to be as accessible as possible during the summer. If you have a general question or need at Echo Valley or Singing Hills, please call one of our main summer numbers listed below. If you have to leave a message, messages will be checked daily.

We have an emergency line for parents to contact a camp director in the case of a family emergency and a director cannot be reached on the phone. Calling this number will forward your call to a hand-held radio which is monitored 24 hours a day by the Foundation Camp Guest Services Manager, who will then contact a Youth Camp Director by radio. Our full-time camp staff take these calls very seriously, so please do not use this line except for actual family emergencies that require immediate attention.
To place an emergency call:
Dial 830-232-4327, wait for tone, and then dial 01230. This will forward your call to the hand-held radio.
All summer care packages and letters directed to campers should be addressed as follows:
Camper’s first and last name
c/o LLYC – EV or SH (whichever applies)
Session # ______
General Delivery
Leakey, TX 78873
Please mail all camper correspondence directly to camp. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CORRESPONDENCE OR PACKAGES TO THE KERRVILLE OFFICE. This will delay your mail since our camp runner only delivers out to camp from the Kerrville office twice a week. We strongly encourage you to communicate with your child through letters, care packages, and email accessible through the Parent Portal.
LLYC provides limited camper insurance in the event your child becomes ill or is injured while attending a camp session. However, your personal insurance is primary and will need to be billed first. If you have a camper who is not insured, LLYC’s policy acts as the primary provider.
LLYC has had the reputation for over 40 summers of having “the best food around.” A delivery truck brings in fresh food weekly, and there is always a variety of items from which to choose. Campers’ health is protected by modern plumbing, hot water, well-constructed cabins with electricity, and separate medical facilities.
The medical staff includes a resident nurse at each camp and a physician who is on call 24 hours a day for both camps. In case of an emergency, we are located just 60 minutes away by EMS from Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville.
All prescription medications or special instructions must be given to the camp nurse upon arrival. Prescription medications must be in original pharmacy-labeled containers.
IMPORTANT: Please notify the Kerrville Office (830-792-1220) if your child is exposed to any communicable disease during the three weeks prior to camp attendance.
Three full-course meals are provided daily. Our products are delivered fresh from H-E-B weekly, and LLYC prides itself on the reputation of its meals. Our food service and kitchen are managed by experienced directors who are aware of campers’ nutritional needs and preferences.
SINGING HILLS:
At Singing Hills, canteen is included in the registration fee; therefore, campers are not required to bring any extra money. Canteen consists of fruit in the morning between activities, something sweet mid-afternoon, and a juice box in the evening after group games. One T-shirt will be provided. Additional T-shirts and other LLYC items will be available to purchase on opening and closing days of each session.
ECHO VALLEY:
At Echo Valley, we offer an on-site general store, Sugar Shack, where campers are given the opportunity to make purchases. Sugar Shack purchases are not included in the registration fee. The Sugar Shack is supplied with candy, snacks, film, books, and clothing. The Echo Valley Sugar Shack is a service we offer and is not mandatory.
The Echo Valley Sugar Shack accepts Visa and MasterCard. The same credit cards will be accepted at Singing Hills for opening and closing days
