Outbound
Outbound is a program of LLYC created for our oldest campers, designed to reach destinations, cultures, and experiences beyond our Canyon. These trips are opportunities for teenagers to experience profound personal growth, diverse cultural perspectives, leadership development, and witness God’s transforming power in many ways.

Why Haiti?
For over a dozen years, we have received campers from Haiti at LLYC, and we are invested in their lives along with the Haitian people. Long-term friendships have been forged, and after the massive earthquake in Haiti, our hearts turned to help a country in great need.
In the past three years, we have sent three teams to Jacob’s Well Camp near Limbe, Haiti. Our main purpose was to facilitate a three-day camp for 300 Haitian kids. We participated in the construction of several cabins, funded the drilling of two water wells, and brought medical teams to treat families from the village. We remain committed to the vision of Jacob’s Well Camp, to the children and families in the surrounding area, and to the rebuilding of hope for the people of Haiti.
Our Mission:
We will facilitate camp for Haitian children, love them unconditionally, use activities and games to build relationships of trust, share Bible stories through drama, and show the love of Christ to the people of Haiti. In addition, we will participate in construction projects that further the mission of Jacob’s Well and work with a medical team to meet the needs of families in the community surrounding Jacob’s Well.
The Leadership at Jacob’s Well:
The Valcin family in Haiti first sent their children to LLYC in 2007. Pastor Gersan Valcin and his wife Betty formed a vision for Jacob’s Well, purchased 40 acres of land, and began the first Christian youth camp in Haiti.
Cost:
$1,600 per participant, which includes domestic roundtrip airfare from Austin, Texas, to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, international roundtrip travel from Ft. Lauderdale to Cap Haitian, Haiti, lodging, and meals in Ft. Lauderdale, departure taxes from Haiti, and a medical/travel insurance policy. The deposit due upon Camper Registration is $200 per camper with the balance of $1,400 due on January 18, 2013. There will be limited scholarship funds available to assist eligible families for Outbound Haiti.
