Outbound

Sunset at Jacob's Well

Outbound is a program of LLYC created for our oldest campers designed to reach destinations, cultures, and experiences beyond our Canyon. These unique events offer personal challenges, opportunities for amazing growth, new cultural experiences, and quite possibly, the reality of being changed from the inside out.

Why Haiti? We have a long running relationship with many families in Haiti. As a matter of fact, we have served as a summer camp to Haitian families for almost ten years. We will reunite with some of our former Haitian campers who will serve as leaders at Jacob’s Well Youth Camp alongside our mission team. Furthermore, read the following facts about Haiti, and you will understand the need and the mission. One of the families who have sent their children to LLYC is the Valcin family. In fact, Pastor Gersan Valcin and his wife Betty dreamed the vision for Jacob’s Well, purchased 40 acres of land, and are responsible for growing the first youth camp in Haiti. Thousands of Haitians have heard the message of Jesus from Pastor Valcin. In addition, he has started over 70 churches in Haiti.

Facts about Jacob’s Well:

Jacob’s Well is the expression of the vision for a camp and retreat center in a watershed for northern Haiti. It is an area rich with avocado, citrus, coco, mango, rice, sugar cane, and a people who are primed to hear the Gospel. Jacob’s Well is situated west of the city of Cap Haitien on the northern side of Haiti. Jacob’s Well will provide:

  • an environment for children and youth to see God’s glorious majesty and greatness.
  • a place that is safe for them to hear and experience the love of Jesus.
  • a setting where both rich and poor kids can learn to bridge the gaps and love each other.
