Roe, Boerner, Welch, Chapman/Holland and Monford/Gilbert: these were a few of the legendary names that graced Headwaters last weekend for our fall LLYC Alumni Family Camp. Pumpkins were carved, s’mores were roasted, fish were caught and faces were painted. Families soaked up our first true wave of cool weather, donning long sleeves and fleeces in the morning, then removing their layers for an afternoon dip in the river, certainly the last swimming weekend of 2015.
Jill Holland brought her artistic genius to the Canyon for a Thanksgiving-themed painting class, while everyone else was free to share their talents at Saturday night’s talent show. Guitars were played and songs were sung for all to enjoy as the temperature dipped back down for a chilly night.
The weekend was rounded out with a lovely Sunday morning service under a perfectly clear sky. The sun sparkled on the water and bounced off the Canyon wall as we all worshiped the Maker of that great place that continues to bring us alums together year after year.
