Staff applications open! Crew applications open Dec 1.
I am happy to report that the 60th summer of LLYC camping was another great success. Campers and staff built meaningful relationships, and joy flourished throughout the Canyon. So much fun was had.
Relationships remain the heart of LLYC—and that has made it a special place for the past 60 years!
What does it mean exactly, though, to build meaningful relationships at camp? It means restoration. At LLYC, campers and staff restore their relationship with God, with each other, with themselves, and with creation. Thanks to our carefully crafted camper surveys—we can see with more certainty than ever—that these restorative relationships took shape this summer at both Singing Hills and Echo Valley.
On closing day of each camp session, our Singing Hills and Echo Valley campers took time to respond to a short survey. Parents received a similar survey by email.
At Singing Hills, when asked if their time at camp helped them build relationships, feel closer to God, appreciate nature, and learn about themselves, campers responded accordingly….
At Echo Valley, when asked if their time at camp helped them to build relationships, reflect and grow in their faith, appreciate nature, and be themselves, campers responded accordingly…
Clearly, 60 years of LLYC is worth celebrating! I hope you will consider joining us for the LLYC 60th year celebration taking place in October. It will be a place to celebrate, and to continue building those meaningful relationships.
We’re inviting everyone who is part of the LLYC family—current and former campers as well as current and former staff. Join us for one event or for the whole weekend. Let’s celebrate the restorative relationships of LLYC!
